Social Security Disability Attorney
Social Security Disability (SSDI or SSI) is a federal program managed by the Social Security Administration. These programs were created to provide income to people who cannot work because of a disability. Your disability must be expected to last for a period of 12 months or longer or end in death. The application process for Social Security Disability is a lengthy one, anywhere from 3 to 18 months, depending on the level at which your application is approved.

Social Security Disability Insurance Law
Social Security Disability Insurance pays benefits to you and certain family members if you have worked long enough to qualify and have paid Social Security taxes during your working life. Supplemental Security Income pays benefits if you have not worked long enough to qualify for SSDI, have a limited amount of resources, and are unable to work. In order to qualify, you must have a physical or mental condition which prevents you from working, your condition is expected to last for at least a year or result in death, and you are less than 65 years old.
To document your claim, you will need medical evidence, such as laboratory findings and doctor's reports. Medical evidence that demonstrates your inability to work is a must or your claim will be denied. You may be required to visit a third-party physician for medical evidence to supplement that which is supplied.
